It was a perfect day
With a friendly yellow sun
With smiling laughing kids
They were running in the streets
They played in the yard
And were riding on a swing
Boys and girls together
I hoped it would last forever
We were sitting on a bench
Just me and you, for me…for you
We discovered something new
Looking at them, at their friendship
Looking in their pure eyes
I was remembering my childhood
Until your lips softly found mine
It was your way to say goodbye
Your way to say: let us stay friends
And tears began dropping down (on your cheek)
I wondered if it was our final kiss
If it was the end for me, for you, for us.
You looked away from smiling kids
And couldn’t see what I was doing
I was doing the same as you,-
Hoping that you would change your mind.
