CHAPTER TWO. WEDDING
-"So, David! How are you doing?"-asked Robert as soon as Stacy left.
-"Everything is fine, I hope. By the way, did she tell you , that we`re going to get married next month?" - asked David with a pleasant smile on his lips.
-"No,she didn`t. Isn`t it to early to get married? How long do you know each other?" -asked Robert with an evident sense of jealousy.
-"Well, six months have past since we had a first date. Why? Do you have anything against me. Look you`ve got married with a younger chick. Lucy was so said and the children. They are not so small. They understand everything. They also need a man in the family. You can not come every single day, play with them, help to do the homework, meet them after school. They also need to know that their mum is happy? Do you understand me?" - asked David seriously.
-"O.K. If you have serious intentions, I don`t mind. One more thing. Pardon me, but what do you do for the living? I mean, can you financially provide for the family. I know, that you`re a writer, and they, so far as I know, don`t earn much." - asked Robert.
-"Look! Everything is fine. Actually, all my books are bestsellers and I earn quite a lot. Besides, my late parents had left me a substantial fortune. So, relax, Richard. I love Stacy and want her and the kids be happy. One more thing. Stacy, I guess, didn`t tell you about it. My ex-wife died of cancer. We didn`t have kids, though, I wanted to have ones very much. And I`ll do everything possible to become, if not a father, because you`re the one, at least a good friend to the kids. I also think, that under the current circumstances, we could also become friends, so to speak. What do you think about it?" - asked David quite friendly.
-"All right. At least, you don`t ask me to be your best man." - answered Robert smiling.
-"You know, that`s a great idea! We, in fact, don`t plan a big wedding, as I don`t have relatives, who could come for the great event. So, just say "yes" - said David pleadingly.
-"O.K. That`s a deal!" - replied Robert.
-"Thank you, man! You`ll do us a great favor." - said David and shook hands with Robert.
